Find class hierarchy

Discovers all class declarations within a project, recording which files they appear in, their superclasses, and interfaces. That information is then recorded in a data table.

Record the classes

Column NameDescription

Source Path

The path to the source file which declares the subclass.

Class name

The class or interface which extends or implements another class or interface.

Superclass

The class extended by the subclass.

Interfaces

Comma-separated list of interfaces implemented by the class.

Usage

This recipe has no required configuration parameters and comes from a rewrite core library. It can be activated directly without adding any dependencies.

  1. Add the following to your build.gradle file:

build.gradle
plugins {
    id("org.openrewrite.rewrite") version("6.12.0")
}

rewrite {
    activeRecipe("org.openrewrite.java.search.FindClassHierarchy")
}

repositories {
    mavenCentral()
}
  1. Run gradle rewriteRun to run the recipe.
